Stay in a castle with 770 years of history

Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, belongs to the Pessac-Léognan controlled designation of origin. Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Grands Crus in Bordeaux.

 

Its vineyard was established in 1252 by the Goth family, whose youngest, Bertrand de Goth would become Archbishop of Bordeaux, then Pope in 1305, under the name of Clément V.

A unique experience rewarded worldwide 

In 2023, Château Pape Clément enters the Top 20 "World's Best Vineyards 2023". This global ranking highlights the best wine destinations in the world and is based on a multitude of criteria such as the castle, the wine tourism offer, the wines and the entire wine experience.

La table du Château: exceptional sustainable gastronomy

It is in the early morning at the time of dew that the Chef of the Château's Table d'Hôte comes to take advantage of the tranquility of the Château's vegetable garden to do his daily picking. He then fills his basket with fruits, vegetables and seasonal herbs before joining the kitchen and sublimating with passion and respect the produce from the vegetable garden which will be offered for dinner in the Large Dining Room. Quality and fresh products, from the ground to the plate for an environmental commitment. 

Bernard Magrez, owner of truffle oaks 

Bernard Magrez is the owner of 5 truffle oaks in the truffle patch ofAléa Truffe which offers a new approach to truffle production from the New Aquitaine Region. The truffles harvested are used in the kitchens of Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, for the pleasure of our customers.

Composed of multiple gardens with various geographical influences, it grows about 600 varieties of plants and trees, some of which are unique in the region such as thousand-year-old olive trees a Cedar of Lebanon planted during the revolution.
